The Rocket Artillery is the artillery unit of the Postmodern Era. It is trained in a Rocket Artillery Factory. Two of them can also be received from the quest Military Funeral Honors, ideally as a higher era unit, if you aborted the quest Your Choice: Truth or Dare?
It has the lowest attack and defense, but moderate speed and the longest range in the Postmodern Era. The Rocket Artillery doesn't have any terrain bonuses.
Compared to the Mechanized Artillery of the previous age, it upgrades the Mechanized Artillery by 13 attack points and 2 range points (1 tile on the 1.5 map). Defense and movement is kept the same, and bonuses against heavy units are increased to 35 and it gains 25 attack and defense bonuses against ranged units. However it loses bonuses on hills and against fast units.
Usage[]
Like the Mechanized Artillery, the Rocket Artillery is a very manoeuvrable unit and can easily reach enemy units on the first turn. However it is also limited by low attack and defense, which is made worse with the general high attack of all other units in the Postmodern Era, as well as increases in movement and range. They are most effective against previous ages but in the Postmodern Era, they are limited by weak attack and defense.
Against Same Age Units[]
Commando[]
The Rocket Artillery is very weak against the Commando, due to the Commando’s bonuses against Artillery, along with the general weak attack and defense of the Rocket Artillery. Although the Commando has only moderate movement and low range, the Rocket Artillery is ineffective at attacking them especially if the battlefield is forested, making the Commando immune from them. Meanwhile a single attack from a Commando can greatly reduce the Rocket Artillery’s usefulness and possibly kill them
Universal Tank[]
The Rocket Artillery is generally strong against the Universal Tank, with its superior range, especially if the terrain is rough. However, because of the high mobility and range of the Universal Tank, as well as their deadly attack, the Rocket Artillery will stand no chance if the Universal Tank attacks them.
IFV[]
The IFV is a major threat to the Rocket Artillery, predominantly due to the incredible movement and range of the IFV, as well as the IFV’s bonuses against artillery, making the Rocket Artillery ineffective against them. In presence of IFVs, Rocket Artillery should not be used.
MG Team[]
The bonuses the Rocket Artillery has against ranged units makes them strong against the MG Team. Also given the fact that they have superior range and mobility to them means that they can not only avoid the MG Team’s Contact ability, but hit them a couple of times before they can counterattack.
