The Shoemaker, the eighth unlocked production building in the game after having researched the Leather Working technology in the Early Middle Ages, takes up the same space, and produces roughly 30% more supplies per tile as compared to the Tannery, and costs 300 less supplies to build; however, it takes 23 more population, as well as costs 4,300 more gold to build.
